Reprehensible

Most people who follow NCAA College Football know about this, from the opening week of the season. After Boise State embarrassed pre-season national title contender Oregon, a Boise State player (someone named Byron Hout) started taunting Oregon Running Back LeGarrette Blount, who retaliated with a sucker punch (and subsequent hissy fit) that got him suspended for the rest of the season. A fair punishment? Your call, but what isn't fair is the lack of punishment Florida linebacker Brandon Spikes is getting for gouging at the eyes of a University of Georgia player (Running Back Washaun Ealey).

LeGarrette Blount knocks Byron Hout out, throws fit.

Brandon Spikes tries to blind Washaun Ealey.

Personally, I find Spikes' actions much worse than Blount's, but for some reason, Flordia coach Urban Meyer is only suspending Spikes for the first half against Vanderbilt. What kind of bullshit is this, Meyer? He should at the very least be suspended a full game. I know shit like this happens all the time in football piles, but that doesn't make it right, especially when it's so blantantly seen by the cameras. You can go ahead and try to say that Spikes was "trying to pull Ealey down," but the play was basically over and Spikes moves his fingers around far too much. He looked like a little kid trying to get Halloween candy out the bottom of a bag or something.

Fucking reprehensible.
